ABSENCE PROCEDURES

We ask for your cooperation in calling the attendance telephone between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. to report absences. If your child will be absent for more than one day, you may note that on the first day's call. If you anticipate only one day's absence and it turns into two or three days contact the school each successive day. Please do not have your child call to report absences. An absence is unexcused until a parent calls. Excessive absences will be referred to the District Attendance Officer. Students are allowed 10 absences per year. Your child's education and safety is our main concern.

Attendance telephone number is 720-972-5738 (Available 24 Hours a Day)

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Staff members are on duty only during the arrival and departure times. Students should arrive no earlier than 7:35 a.m. Once students arrive they should remain on school grounds in the designated areas until the bell rings unless directed otherwise by an adult supervisor. All students will enter through the front hallways at 7:40 a.m. and proceed to their classroom. STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE PLAYGROUND BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL. (The playground in the front of the school is the property of City of Northglenn and is not Wyco school property.)

Students are to be in class by 7:50 a.m. A student arriving after 7:50 a.m. is considered tardy. The student must report to the office for a tardy pass. There are no excused tardies. Excessive tardies will be referred to the District Attendance Officer. For early departure during the day, the parent must check the student out through the office signing the Check In/Out Sheet. Whenever someone else will be picking up your student from school during school hours, please send a note or call the office giving the following information: name of person authorized to pick up student, reason, time and whether student will return to school that day.
